Dear creator, welcome to my letter! I love autumn and spooky things and I’m very excited for this exchange (but if you want to go for something a bit more general, I have plenty of likes for that as well). I hope my ideas are helpful! You can also find me on AO3 under m_madeleine.

EDIT Oct 11: Oh God, I only just realized I made some errors, including completely forgetting to paste in my Smut DNWs. Everything is correct in my sign-up, so I hope it’s not too terrible for my assigned writer, but if anyone was only going off my letter, I’m so sorry! OTL

So I took part in the Season of Kink bingo this year - and actually got a bingo done, yay! \o/ (Bingo card here for full disclosure. Isn't it lovely?)

Herein follows a post in which I blather on about the resulting fics a bit, because this was a fairly big work-intensive event for me and I wanna make it a big deal, plus this is my journal and I write what I want. Cue villainous laughter. Onward!

I’m happy about you writing for me! And I can’t wait to read your story, but in the meantime, I hope it’ll help you to look at some of my thoughts and ideas. Don’t feel restricted by them (though it’d be great if you paid attention to my squicks), they’re just suggestions and if you have an exciting idea that I didn’t mention, go for it!

General squicks: character death (fandom-specific exceptions below), graphic violence, blood/gore, rape, dub-con, illness/sickfic, mpreg, a character turned dark(er)

Also if you write a slash ship and have to “work around“ a woman, I’d prefer if you didn’t kill her off or treat her cruelly.

General Likes: heavy (canon-specific) imagery, lots of details about the environment, any rating from Gen to explicit porn (please write what you feel comfortable with), missing scenes, character exploration, historical AUs, magic/fairy tale AUs, het/slash/femslash/poly, cracky premises taken seriously, some good ol’ tropes (pretend relationship leading to a real one, huddling for warmth, hiding in a closet etc. together, sex pollen), deep friendships, broken people finding and supporting each other, holiday/winter-themed fic

For porn, it’s probably easier to say what isn't my cup of tea: formal BDSM, scat, watersports, non-con, dub-con, a/b/o verse, pain play related to cutting and stuff. Everything else is good, really!

Where to find it: My favourite version is this one, available on youtube in two parts with subtitles!
Characters: Mercutio, Tybalt
Why I love it: The theme of love as a form of “resistance” against the toxic Veronese society is very fascinating to me. Also how the characters are actually sort of way too young for the kind of roles they get pressed into and what would happen if those boundaries broke up (e.g. a fix-it where the feud becomes less relevant) - what would they do with themselves, how would they act towards each other?
What I’d love to see:
Setting: I’m cool with the canon setting (whether that’s actual historical Verona or its weird counterpart filled with fire, leather and sparkles), but I’d also love a different historical setting, if you have a good idea there! Also I have a particular weakness for fairytale/magic AUs.
This is actually the fandom in which I'm totally ok with the canon deaths, but fix-its make me happy, too!
Gen: You can definitely write Gen! I’m very interested in:
• Missing scenes, exploring canon scenes from characters’ POVs or linking them to things that may have happened in the past
• Related: character exploration – how do the characters feel about the society they live in, their families, their roles in the feud?
• Besides Mercutio and Tybalt, I’m very interested in: Romeo, Julia, Lady Capulet
Romance/Porn: I ship Mercutio/Tybalt, I ship it haaaaard. I think it’s interesting what kind of past they might have had – were they something like friends once, maybe? I’m fine with there not actually being any real relationship, but just pining/thoughts/unhappy crushes in a missing or canon scene. However if you want to, I’m veeeery happy about fix-its. What kind of relationship would Mercutio and Tybalt have if they left Verona and the feud became irrelevant, maybe?
If Tybalt/Mercutio isn’t your cup of tea, but you still want to write shippy things, I also like Tybalt/Romeo, Tybalt/Julia/Romeo and Mercutio/Romeo.

L.A. Confidential

Where to find it: I’ve only seen the movie, which I guess you’d have to buy or borrow (if you haven’t seen it/need another watch).
Characters: Bud White, Ed Exley
Why I love it: I’m very much into the “No one is innocent” theme of the movie – and the struggle to counteract this and still try to do good - and its very gritty “aesthetic” (to call it that). Also well, the characters are great!
What I’d love to see:
Setting: Mostly canon, really, because I think the story and characters are pretty connected to the canon setting - though as said, I have a weakness for magic AUs and I’ve never actually thought about how this could work with this canon… so if you have an idea for that, feel free!
Generally, I’m more interested in what happens post-canon, but if you have an idea for a missing scene or canon-time related character exploration, go ahead, I love those!
I'd prefer for Bud, Ed and also Lynn not to die, but I'm fine with the canon deaths.
Romance/Porn: I ship Ed/Bud with the fire of a thousand suns, tbh. I love how they complement each other, how different they are and how they still work together so well. I think their relationship would probably be hilariously un-romantic and filled with a lot of swearing and the transition from friendship to being together sorta smooth. Would also not say no to them being badass together… what about dramatic rescues? Or maybe they have to pretend to be a couple for investigation reasons? Stuck in a closet together? Yeeees.
(I’m somehow very sure that Bud wouldn’t survive in a small town for long, so for post-canon I mostly see him back in L.A. – but if you have another idea, feel free to deviate from that!)
Gen: What I said about Ed and Bud for the shippy part applies to gen fic as well, I guess. Casefic very welcome (you can absolutely mention deaths for that, just please don’t go too graphic). What I’ve always been interested in is what a team of Ed, Bud and Lynn would be like, working together post-canon (but I can’t require Lynn, so that’s only if that plot bunny bit you as well, haha).

Les Misérables (Dallas)

Where to find it: I don’t think there’s a legal opportunity to watch it, but if you search around, there’s snippets and gifs and some people have typed up their thoughts about it.
Characters: Cosette, Eponine
Why I love it: It’s amazing how much more obvious the relevance of Les Mis today is in the modern setting! Also I love the new character interpretations and little details they added for this version!
What I’d like to see:
Setting: The setting is pretty much what makes this special for me, so I’d prefer if you didn’t write AUs that change the time. My love for magical AUs still applies though! And for this fandom, I’d prefer fix-it.
Gen:
• Eponine character exploration: I love how reserved she is in this version – what does she really feel and think? Especially with her parents being so much more horrible than they usually are (I’ll never get over Thenadier pointing a knife at her face). Also the scene where she grabs Marius’s book made me think about what that aspect would be like. Does she try to educate herself, maybe?
• Cosette character exploration: She’s so cute! I’m in love with how nerdy and shy she seems and I’d be very happy about something with her and Valjean.
• Cosette and Eponine friendship – they’d be the cutest nerds! Bonding over books? Maybe Valjean adopted Eponine at some point, too?
Romance/Porn: Eponine/Cosette yissssss. Nerdiness plus make-outs? Tentative friendship slowly transforming into very tender romance? But also so much baggage! (I also like this Marius a lot, so I'd prefer if you didn't kill him off - just not mentioning him is fine). Also I got some Cosette/Marius/Eponine feels, though I haven’t found a way to pull that off yet – maybe you will?
In general, if you don’t feel inspired by any of the above, I also like this version’s Cosette/Marius, Marius/Valjean (you’d be something of a pioneer, haha!) and Enjolras character exploration (I love how genuinely emotional and passionate he is in this version).
